Born in the 50's, raised in the 60's, partied like it was 1999 in the 70's. And then, not unlike, Lemony Snickics, after a series of unfortune event, I finally came to in the early 80's and realized that being able to drink most people under the table wasn't a life skill. I then sobbered up and headed in a new direction. I took a graphics art class (that was back when you actually did graphics by hand and not on a computer, try that one) and entered the printing industry . Boring, new direction.
It was at that time on a shopping trip to the local mall I walked into a poster shop and found "Lost Love". It was a poster of a woman's eyes and one heart shaped tear was falling. To me it was mesmorizing and I just fell in love with the poster so I bought it, walked out side, sat down on a planter, looked at the store and said to myself, "that's where I want to work". Two weeks later I had a job there and stayed for almost 6 years. I started in sales (I can sell anything I truly believe in) and rose through the ranks. It was a custome framing shop as well, so I also learned how to design matting and framing. Eventually I was also taught how to frame and to this day still love framing.
But fate caught up with me again and I ended up moving back to my home town. Went to work as a office manager for a wholesle jewelry company and began learning about stones, metals, and designs. It was there in Alb. I met my husband. We eventually moved to Grand Junction, CO, and have been here since. So that's how I got "here" in the physical since, but how did I get here in the creative since? And so the staga shall continue.
